I think you'll find that generally, a lot of people who read the discussion and feel that "their point" is already being made by someone posting a message to it won't bother to respond, since "their point" got made. :-) I may be wrong, but that's how it seems. Group names are supposed to be more general to more specific as you go from left to right in the group name. The problem with alt.support.psoriasis is that it gets specific too quickly, not allowing for easy expansion along that flow. My personal thought on the name is that it should be alt.support.skin-diseases.psoriasis, which provides for exactly this.
